In the end when you try to control staff you actually lose control. When you micromanage you lose the trust of your staff, how do staff members see you? As a person who does not trust them to do the work. They do not trust you to recognize their work. When the trust barrier is broken between manager and staff work is affected and productivity is lost as every person keeps looking behind their back that the Bid Bad Boss is after them. Staff members who are micromanaged start thinking, I am here for the money, when people start thinking like that 2 things happen 1 good staff will leave as soon as they find another job. In the meantime, they will stop giving good ideas as why should they give you innovative ideas when they will leave soon and work for the competition.
